8 cups of rice krispy cereal
8 tbsp butter
2 14 oz bags of candy corn marshmallows (seasonal)
yellow food coloring
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
Melt 4 tbsp butter in heavy bottom pan on medium heat.
Once the butter is melted add in 1 14 oz bag of the candy corn marshmallows. Stirring gently and continuously until all of the marshmallows have melted.
Add in 4 cups of rice krispy cereal and mix well.
To make a round ‘pizza like’ rice krispy treat (so you can cut it into triangles) I use a foil pizza pan. You can find them at any store. Mine was a total of 16 inches but I only made about a 12 inch circle. (I didn’t cover the entire pan).
Butter the pan that you are using so it’s easy to shape the rice krispy treat into a circle.
The first batch will be orange (the marshmallows turn them orange) that’s ok because we will dip the tip in white chocolate.
Dump the rice krispy (1st batch unto buttered pan) and use a buttered spatula or greased hands to shape into 5 inch circle.
Now, start second batch. Melt butter (4 tbsp) add in 2nd bag of marshmallows and 3-5 drops of yellow food coloring and then the remaining 4 cups of the rice krispy cereal.
Shape this batch around the first circle. This will be the outer part of the candy corn (the yellow part).
Let the rice krispy treat set for 3-4 hours.
Then melt white chocolate.
then carefully cut the rice krispy treat into triangles (like pizza slices) and dip each candy corn into the white chocolate. Allow the chocolate to set for 10-15 minutes (I just lay them onto wax paper so they don’t stick!
