Halloween is less than 2 weeks away!!!! This whole month just flew by! But we are definitely ready for Halloween! We got our boys their costumes and decided what we were going to dress up as too! We have a lot of our party planning out of the way too! EVERY year we have a Halloween party! It’s awesome! One of the best parts of the party is…..you guessed it, FOOD! These brownies made their appearance last Halloween party and they didn’t make it very long! What makes these brownies even more festive is the crunchy candy that’s baked into the brownies. It gives you the ‘I’m eating bones!’feel when you sink your fangs into them!
Ingredients for Brownies:
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
3 oz dark chocolate (chopped)
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup crunch a bunch candies
Ingredients for decorating brownies:
crushed chocolate cream Oreos
edible decoratding pen or marker
Preheat oven to 350°.
Line a 9 inch brownie pan with non stick foil and spray with cooking
spray. Set aside.
Melt the chocolate and butter over a double boiler until melted and mixed together well. (A double boiler is a pot filled 1/4 of the way up with water and a heat safe bowl is placed inside. The water CANNOT touch the bowl. This allows for the chocolate to melt without burning. Be sure the water does NOT touch the bowl, that’s important!
Once the chocolate is melted stir in the brown sugar and vanilla then remove from heat and whisk in the eggs, quickly. Mix egg in well.
Add flour, cocoa and salt and mix well.
Now stir in crunch a bunch candy.
Pour batter into your prepared pan, spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until tooth pick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Remove from oven and let brownies cool on wire rack. After 10 minutes remove brownies from pan by pulling out the foil. Let brownies cool completely on wire rack while still in the foil.
Once the brownies are cool, cut them to your desired size.
Crush up oreos (I just put them in a baggies and smashed them with a rolling pin, GREAT stress reliever! lol) Crush them until they resemble dirt. I used about 15 Oreos.
Spread a teaspoon of Nutella on the brownie and sprinkle the dirt(Oreos) onto the Nutella. Place your pumpkin to the side of the dirt, using more Nutella as glue to keep the pumpkin in place.
Now, carefully cut your milanos in half. Using an edible pen or marker write your desired message on the Milano headstone. Using Nutella as glue place your headstone next to your pumpkin.
Lastly, sprinkle your bones on top of the dirt for added effect!
Mwuahahahaha……..enjoy my pretties!!!! Mwuahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
