I’m taking it right back to childhood with these right here! Chocolate chip cookies are that one comfort food that can bring me right back to being a kid.
Let’s reminisce for a second……..the school day is over, I’m tired and hungry and can’t wait to be HOME! I walk in the door and there it is…..that sweet chocolatey smell that tells you there’s a warm plate of cookies sitting on the counter….waiting for you. It’s always a good day when there’s chocolate chip cookies….ALWAYS! 😍
You all are going to love these! They are just like mom used to make em’! Only better! A little crunchy and chewy, just perfection! And they are super easy to make!
Well, what are you waiting for? Come on your kids are counting on there being some cookies on that counter! 😉
1 cup butter (softened….make sure it’s not melted. Melted butter will create bigger cookies, make sure it’s room temp)
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp hot water
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips (you can use semisweet as well)
Preheat oven to 350°.
Cream butter, then add sugars and cream well.
Beat in eggs singly.
Stir in vanilla.
Dissolve baking soda in hot water then add to batter.
Add salt, flour and chocolate chips and mix well.
Drop by rounded tbsp on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. Cookies might look doughy in the middle thats ok, they will set more as they cool.
Let cookies cool on sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks.
Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5-7 days. If they even last that long! 😉
